ACHILLE

My name is Celena Weaver.  I have two sons—Kurtis a 29 year old graduate from  Southeastern Olahoma State University.  Kurtis is employed with Targa Gas Corporation  in Oklahoma.  Colt is 13 years old and loves baseball and basketball.  

I graduated from Durant High School in 1981.  I have attended both SOSU and ECU.  I have a bachelor’s degree in elementary education with an early childhood endorsement and a master’s degree in education administration.  I have been an educator  for 25 years.   Throughout this time, I have taught 3 year olds, Kindergarten, 2^nd grade, 3^rd grade, 4^th grade, 5^th grade, GED classes, and adjunct classes for teacher candidates at SOSU.  I am currently yteaching 3^rd grade at Achille Elementary school.

My favorite thing to do in the world is spend time with my sons.  My youngest son plays baseball for a traveling league in Texas so we stay very busy attending practices and games.  

My goal each year is  to improve the test scores., encourage my students to learn from everything they see and do, and promote a love of reading and curiosity in everything.  I love to watch my students mature .  

I chose to be a teacher because my family has been teachers, coaches, and superintendents.  

I love Achille because of the people. They are honest and committed.  They don’t complain.  They simply do what they say and say what they mean.
